The Bulgarian Lev (BGN) was the official currency of Bulgaria, issued by the Bulgarian National Bank. It was pegged to the Euro at the fixed rate of 1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN from 1997 under a currency board arrangement, and was officially retired on January 1, 2025 when Bulgaria adopted the Euro and joined the Eurozone.
